Oakland Man Charged With Killing His Mother and Attempting To Murder Two Others In Berkeley Hills Oakland, CA. September 27, 2023 – District Attorney Pamela Price’s Office has charged Jonah Jeremiah Roper, 36, with murder and eight other felony counts, including attempted murder, first-degree residential burglary, second-degree commercial burglary, evading an officer and receiving stolen property. According to the Oakland Police Department on September 23, 2023, the evidence shows Jonah Roper stabbed his mother several times at her home on Overlook Drive in Berkeley.
