Oakland - Alameda County District Attorney Pamela Price announced charges against Tramonn Gray and Alonzo Dyer, the two men charged with the shooting death of Oakland resident, Wing Wong. Gray, 32, was charged with four felony counts, including murder, attempted murder, shooting into an inhabited dwelling, shooting at an occupied motor vehicle, and enhancements. If convicted on all charges, Gray could face up to 54 years to life in state prison. Dyer, 35, was charged with possession of a firearm by a felon and possession of ammunition by a prohibited person. Former Alameda County Prosecutor Amilcar “Butch” Ford Ordered Booked on Misdemeanor Charge    November 16, 2023  Oakland – Alameda County Superior Court Judge James Cramer today ordered former Alameda County Prosecutor Amilcar “Butch” Ford to be booked no later than December 20th on one misdemeanor count of defending after prosecuting as a prosecutor in violation of the Business and Professions Code.   “Mr. Ford interfered in the seminal prosecution of a police officer following the shooting death of Steven Taylor at Walmart in San Leandro,” said DA Price. “Mr. Ford’s misconduct potentially makes it more challenging for this office to hold the officer accountable for his actions.”  Regarding the Court's ruling, District Attorney Price added, “We applaud the court’s decision to treat Mr. Ford as it would any other resident and did not give him special treatment.”   The Court also vacated the jury trial and will…

November 8, 2023 Oakland - Alameda County District Attorney Pamela Price held a press conference to announce that the investigation into the death of Maurice Monk, who was found dead in his Santa Rita Jail cell on November 15, 2021, will be moving forward now with the cooperation of the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office. “Last night, Sheriff Yesenia Sanchez agreed in writing to provide my office with the information that we have been seeking by November 17, 2023,” stated District Attorney Pamela Price.” Maurice Monk was arrested on October 11, 2021. Alameda County Jury Convicts John Ravano for Sustained Sexual Assault of a Child  November 2, 2023  Dublin – Alameda County District Attorney Pamela Price announced today the guilty verdict in the sexual abuse case filed against John Ravano in 2020. Ravano, now nearly 80 years old was charged with 16 felonies related to aggravated sexual assault of a child and possession of child pornography. His victim, the daughter of Ravano’s girlfriend, was around 11 years old when the abuse started.   The complaint focused on crimes committed between October 2003 and March 2004 when the victim was between 11 and 12 years of age. The victim, now in her 30s, reported the abuse in 2020, citing repressed memory as the cause of the delay.  She reported the abuse took place from 2003 to 2006 approximately four days every week on the nights her mother was working…
