Oakland, CA — Today, District Attorney Ursula Jones Dickson announced that the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office has charged Ivan Salvador Ochoa Munguia (26) with multiple counts of attempted murder and using his motor vehicle as a deadly weapon on September 16, 2025, in Berkeley.
Mr. Ochoa Munguia is charged with three counts of willful, deliberate, and premeditated attempted murder, three counts of assault with a deadly weapon, and three counts of leaving the scene of an accident resulting in an injury other than himself. The defendant is further charged with two counts of unlawful driving or taking a vehicle, two counts of attempted unlawful driving or taking a vehicle, and one count of receiving stolen property—all felonies. These charges include sentencing enhancements for the use of a deadly weapon and for inflicting great bodily injury.
Ivan Salvador Ochoa Munguia was arraigned on September 18, 2025, and is scheduled for a plea hearing on October 1, 2025, in Department 112 of the Wiley Manuel Courthouse in Oakland.
