August 18, 2026 – Alameda County District Attorney Ursula Jones Dickson announced today that the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office has filed multiple felony charges against Khalid Nelson (18) after an armed robbery and shooting outside a TJ Maxx store in Alameda.

On Saturday, August 15, 2026, while brandishing a loaded firearm, Mr. Nelson attempted to rob the victim in the TJ Maxx parking lot.  A Good Samaritan, who came to the victim’s aid, was shot in the leg and sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

“I am grateful that the Good Samaritan received prompt medical treatment and will recover,” said DA Jones Dickson.

Mr. Nelson has been charged with robbery and assault with an unregistered firearm, causing great bodily injury.

Mr. Nelson is scheduled to be arraigned on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at 9:00 AM, in Department 112 of the Alameda County Superior Court at the Wiley W. Manuel Courthouse.
