OAKLAND, CA — Alameda County District Attorney Ursula Jones Dickson announced today that the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office has filed murder charges against Sergio Omar Flores in connection with a killing, that took place earlier this year, of an individual whose body was found buried in Oakland.
On June 9, 2026, Oakland Police Department Homicide Investigators discovered the deceased victim buried in Oakland. The victim was bound and had duct tape covering his face. Through an extensive investigation, investigators identified Sergio Omar Flores as the suspect in the killing.
“I commend the Oakland Police Department’s homicide investigators for their diligent work in identifying and apprehending the defendant in this horrific crime,” said Alameda County District Attorney Ursula Jones Dickson.
Sergio Omar Flores is scheduled to be arraigned on August 28, 2026, in Department 112 of the Alameda County Superior Court, Willey W. Manuel Courthouse in Oakland.
