Evidence Appears to Show Cover-Up of Previous Charges of Discrimination Against Jewish and Black Jurors October 23, 2024 Oakland, CA—Today,  DA Pamela Price announced that attorneys assigned to review the office’s death penalty cases found evidence revealing that instead of investigating claims of prosecutorial misconduct—excluding Jewish and Black residents from juries, a former senior Alameda County District Attorney’s Office prosecutor who is now a sitting judge in Alameda County, Morris Jacobson, and a team of investigators appeared to have taken part in covering it up. During a press conference, DA Price presented a copy of a handwritten note by a former DA office employee who attended a meeting with employees from the office. Alameda County District Attorney Pamela Price Announces $7.5 Million Settlement Agreement with Walmart Over Improper Disposal of Hazardous Waste and Medical Waste

October 22, 2024 Oakland, CA—Alameda County District Attorney Pamela Price, the California Attorney General’s Office, and eleven other prosecutors' offices secured a $7.5 million settlement with Walmart on behalf of the People of the State of California. The settlement resolves allegations that Walmart unlawfully disposed of hazardous waste and medical waste from its facilities statewide to municipal landfills. Walmart agreed to pay $4,297,040 in civil penalties and $3,202,960 in costs, to be split among the prosecuting agencies, the California Department of Toxic Substances Control, and some local environmental protection agencies. There are nine Walmart stores in Alameda County. The settlement is the result of over 70 covert waste inspections conducted by the district attorneys’ offices statewide from 2015 through 2021, including many assisted by Alameda County District Attorney’s Office environmental protection investigators. DA Pamela Price Announces $6 Million Grant for the CARES Navigation Center October 8, 2024 OAKLAND, CA — Alameda County District Attorney Pamela Price announced that her office was awarded a $6 million grant by the California Board of State and Community Corrections (BSCC) to expand the Community Assessment Referral Engagement Services (CARES) Navigation Center diversion program. Alameda County was one of 27 government and community-based organizations in the state awarded the grant after a highly competitive process. This is the largest grant ever awarded to the Alameda County District Attorney's office. The CARES Navigation Center is the only pre-arrest diversion program in Alameda County. District Attorney Pamela Price Files a Dozen Felony Charges Against Man Accused of Multiple Armed Robberies October 3, 2024 Oakland, CA — Today, Alameda County District Attorney Pamela Price announces a dozen felony charges filed against Xavier Massey (21) for allegedly committing a series of armed robberies of Oakland businesses in August and September of 2024. Mr. Massey is charged with five counts of felony second-degree robbery.
