Alameda County Receives $7 Million From Kaiser Settlement  Oakland, CA September 11, 2023 – Alameda County District Attorney Pamela Y. Price announced a historic agreement with Kaiser Foundation Hospitals and the Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (together, “Kaiser”), resolving accusations that Kaiser improperly disposed of hazardous, medical, and universal wastes and patients’ private health information. The agreement between Kaiser, the Alameda County District Attorney’s office, the California Attorney General’s office and five other county district attorneys will resolve the lawsuit brought against Kaiser, alleging violations of California’s Unfair Business Practices law and various consumer protections laws under the California Health & Safety Code, Civil Code, Code of Regulations, as well as the HIPPA law and related regulations. The total value of the Stipulated Judgment is $49 million dollars, and includes statewide civil penalties totaling $37.5 million, costs of $4.8 million and credits for Supplemental Environmental Projects totaling…

Alameda County District Attorney Charges Defendant After Two Murders DA Pamela Price Approves Murder Charges with Multiple Enhancements   Oakland, CA. September 7, 2023 – The Alameda County District Attorney’s Office has charged Defendant Amadi Dijuan Monroe with second degree murder for the shooting of Jerald Clark at 24th and Telegraph in Oakland on August 8, 2023.  A second charge for the murder of Brenda Diaz, Monroe's ex-girlfriend, is pending. Defendant Monroe also faces charges of felon in possession of a firearm and multiple enhancements for shooting from a vehicle to commit the murder and based on numerous allegations of gun violence endangering public safety. Defendant Monroe was out on bail after he was charged with shooting at a vehicle in the same neighborhood in March 2023. Alameda County District Attorney Announces Charges in Brutal Assault of Elderly Man Alameda County, September 5, 2023 – The Alameda County District Attorney's Office has filed charges against James Lambert, 23, in connection with the assault of 81-year-old Francisco Gonzalez on August 17. Witnesses reported that Lambert stabbed the elderly man eight times in the head and proceeded to strike him with a metal pipe while he lay on the ground. The defendant is accused of launching the unprovoked attack on Gonzalez as he walked along Whitman Street in Hayward. The assault was halted by the intervention of an off-duty security guard. Gonzalez was rushed to Eden Medical Center and is currently in critical condition. The charges brought against Lambert include Assault with a Deadly Weapon under Penal Code 245(a)(1) and Elder and Dependent Adult Abuse, Infliction of Injury under Penal Code 368(b)(1). Alameda County District Attorney Announces Conviction in 2021 Robbery-Murder

Oakland, August 31, 2023 -  Alameda County District Attorney Pamela Price announced a guilty verdict in the murder of 75-year-old Pak Ho in Oakland’s Adams Point neighborhood. A jury convicted Teaunte Bailey, 28, on all charges, including first and second-degree felony murder and robbery. Bailey was alleged to have jumped out of a vehicle to rob Mr. Ho while Ho was on his morning walk on March 9, 2021. During the robbery, Ho fell and struck his head on the concrete. He later died from his injuries. Bailey was in possession of Mr. Ho’s belongings on the same day of the incident and was wearing a GPS ankle monitor which linked him to Mr. Ho’s murder and to a separate home invasion robbery. Fremont, CA. August 30, 2023 – The Alameda County District Attorney’s Office was delighted to participate in the 31st annual FOG (Festival of Globe) Indian Day Parade and Fair. The two-day annual event commemorated India’s independence and brought thousands of people to Fremont, one of the most ethnically and culturally diverse cities in the Bay Area. More than sixty percent of Fremont residents are of Asian descent and the celebration of this diversity was evident in the parade of floats representing Asian countries, including India, China, Nepal, Vietnam and Burma.
