DISTRICT ATTORNEY URSULA JONES DICKSON ANNOUNCES ATTEMPTED MURDER CHARGE AGAINST KAMANI TAYLOR

Oakland, CA – Today, District Attorney Ursula Jones Dickson announced that the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office has filed attempted murder charges against Kamani Jermaine Taylor (26). The charges arise from the shooting of a gun into an occupied vehicle in the 1200 block of 78th Avenue in the City of Oakland. Six people, including children, were in the SUV at the time of the incident.
Mr. Taylor has been charged with multiple felonies including attempted murder, a violation of Section 187(a)/664 of the California Penal Code, six counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm, child abuse, shooting at an occupied motor vehicle, shooting at an unoccupied motor vehicle, and two misdemeanor firearm brandishing charges arising out of the same incident.
Kamani Jermaine Taylor is scheduled for arraignment at 9:00 AM on June 10, 2026, in Department 112 of the Alameda County Superior Court, in the Wiley Manuel Courthouse in Oakland.
