September 24, 2026 – Oakland, California — Alameda County District Attorney Ursula Jones Dickson announced today that a jury convicted Silasomari Bryant (33) and Derrick McIntyre (49) of second-degree murder and the use of firearms in the killing of 18-year-old Bre’Elle Vercher in Oakland.
On May 22, 2024, Bre’Elle Vercher was shot and killed while sitting in a car on Manila Avenue in Oakland. Earlier that evening, she had been in Oakland when defendant Silasomari Bryant got into an altercation with defendant Derrick McIntyre. The two men argued in person and over the phone. Ultimately, both drove to the corner of Manila and West MacArthur, where they engaged in a shootout. Neither man was harmed, but Ms. Vercher was struck twice in the back during the shooting. She was taken to San Francisco General Hospital, where she was pronounced dead from her injuries.
“Bre’Elle Vercher lost her life when a personal dispute escalated into deadly gunfire. This verdict holds the defendant accountable and reflects the jury’s careful consideration of the evidence,” said District Attorney Ursula Jones Dickson.
Silasomari Bryant and Derrick McIntyre were convicted by a jury of second-degree murder involving the use of a firearm. Further proceedings will be held in Department 6 of the Alameda County Superior Court at the Rene C. Davidson Courthouse on December 1, 2026, at 9:30 AM.
