OAKLAND MAN CHARGED WITH MURDER
Oakland, CA, June 4, 2026 — Today, District Attorney Ursula Jones Dickson announced that the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office filed a murder charge, a violation of Section 187 of the California Penal Code, against Ottoniel Salesgarcia of Oakland. Mr. Salesgarcia was also charged with a second count, a violation of Penal Code section 245(a)(1), assault with a deadly weapon. These charges arise from an incident in East Oakland on May 23, 2026. Oakland Police investigated, obtained a warrant, arrested Mr. Salesgarcia, and submitted a report to this Office. The case is scheduled for Arraignment on June 5, 2026, at 9:00 AM, in Alameda County Superior Court, Department 112 of the Wiley Manuel Courthouse, in Oakland.####
