November 28, 2023 Alameda County District Attorney Pamela Price Announces Guilty Verdict in Domestic Violence Case Oakland - The Office of Alameda County District Attorney Pamela Price announces a jury verdict in a domestic violence case against Reynaldo Garibay. The case tried by Deputy District Attorney Benjamin Sinoff was a hard-fought and difficult case involving six separate incidents of domestic violence. The victim was terrorized in her home by Defendant Garibay after she ended their relationship in early 2023. A jury found Defendant Garibay guilty on all seven charge counts alleged, including making criminal threats, exhibiting a deadly weapon, and vandalism. Defendant Garibay was sentenced on November 20, 2023, to a term of three years court probation and 180 days custody in the Santa Rita County Jail.  He was directed to complete a 52 week Batterers Intervention Program and comply with the terms and conditions…

Alameda County District Attorney Pamela Price Charges Two Men in Connection with the Shooting Death of Wing Wong

November 22, 2023 Alameda County District Attorney Pamela Price Charges Two Men in Connection with the Shooting Death of Wing Wong Defendant Tramonn Gray faces up to 54 years to life in state prison if convicted of all charges. Oakland - Alameda County District Attorney Pamela Price announced charges against Tramonn Gray and Alonzo Dyer, the two men charged with the shooting death of Oakland resident, Wing Wong. Gray, 32, was charged with four felony counts, including murder, attempted murder, shooting into an inhabited dwelling, shooting at an occupied motor vehicle, and enhancements. If convicted on all charges, Gray could face up to 54 years to life in state prison. Dyer, 35, was charged with possession of a firearm by a felon and possession of ammunition by a prohibited person. Former Alameda County Prosecutor Amilcar “Butch” Ford Ordered Booked on Misdemeanor Charge    November 16, 2023  Oakland – Alameda County Superior Court Judge James Cramer today ordered former Alameda County Prosecutor Amilcar “Butch” Ford to be booked no later than December 20th on one misdemeanor count of defending after prosecuting as a prosecutor in violation of the Business and Professions Code.   “Mr. Ford interfered in the seminal prosecution of a police officer following the shooting death of Steven Taylor at Walmart in San Leandro,” said DA Price. “Mr. Ford’s misconduct potentially makes it more challenging for this office to hold the officer accountable for his actions.”  Regarding the Court's ruling, District Attorney Price added, “We applaud the court’s decision to treat Mr. Ford as it would any other resident and did not give him special treatment.”   The Court also vacated the jury trial and will…

Alameda County District Attorney Pamela Price Announces the Sheriff’s Office will Comply with DA Request for Information Regarding the Death of Maurice Monk in Santa Rita County Jail

November 8, 2023 Oakland - Alameda County District Attorney Pamela Price held a press conference to announce that the investigation into the death of Maurice Monk, who was found dead in his Santa Rita Jail cell on November 15, 2021, will be moving forward now with the cooperation of the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office. “Last night, Sheriff Yesenia Sanchez agreed in writing to provide my office with the information that we have been seeking by November 17, 2023,” stated District Attorney Pamela Price.” Maurice Monk was arrested on October 11, 2021. He was accused of disorderly conduct and refusing to exit an AC Transit Bus.
