District Attorney Pamela Price Charges a Man and Woman in San Leandro Skate Park Murder

OAKLAND, CA —Today, Alameda County District Attorney Pamela Price announced that Devin Stevenson (30) is charged with the deadly shooting of a man at a skate park in unincorporated San Leandro. Prosecutors charged Mr. Stevenson with murder, felony unlawful firearm activity, and felony carrying a loaded firearm in public. The second defendant, Ebony Cook (31), is charged with felony accessory to murder after the fact.
The criminal complaint alleges that on or about June 15, 2023, Mr. Stevenson shot and killed the victim after they got into a verbal altercation at the skate park adjacent to the REACH Ashland Youth Center. It is further alleged that Ms. Cook, had knowledge of the deadly shooting and allegedly hid Mr. Stevenson with the intent that he might avoid and escape from arrest, trial, conviction, and punishment for the alleged murder.
If convicted and sentenced of all charges, Devin Stevenson faces 25 years to life plus three years in state prison. If convicted and sentenced on the charge, Ebony Cook faces three years in prison. Mr. Stevenson is scheduled to return to court on October 21, 2024, in Department 112 at the Wiley W. Manuel Courthouse in Oakland.
