Selected 2L Law Clerks participate in a paid ten-week program in which they are certified under the State Bar of California rules concerning the Practical Training of Law Students. 2L Law Clerks participate in practical intensive training exercises throughout the summer. 2L Law Clerks rotate through three different branch locations to gain hands-on experience in the work of entry level prosecutors. Under attorney supervision, 2L Law Clerks conduct a variety of in-court evidentiary hearings, including misdemeanor jury trials, preliminary hearings, motions to suppress, and a variety of other motions. Applicants must be in good academic standing and must be qualified to be certified under the State Bar of California rules concerning the Practical Training of Law Students.
