Oakland, CA – Today, District Attorney Ursula Jones Dickson announced that the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office has filed murder charges against Shacory Carnell Daniels (39). The victim was shot and killed on May 31, 2026, while walking to his vehicle in the vicinity of 14th and Harrison Streets in the City of Oakland.
Mr. Daniels is charged with murder, a violation of Section 187 of the California Penal Code, a Special Allegation of Felony Murder because the homicide took place in the course of an attempted robbery, a Special Allegation of Personal and Intentional Discharge of a Firearm, and Possession of a Firearm and Ammunition by a Convicted Felon.
Shacory Carnell Daniels was arraigned at 2:00 PM on June 8, 2026, in Department 112 of the Alameda County Superior Court, in the Wiley Manuel Courthouse in Oakland. The next court date is June 30, 2026, at 9:00 AM for plea in the same department.

OAKLAND MAN CHARGED WITH MURDER
Oakland, CA, June 4, 2026 — Today, District Attorney Ursula Jones Dickson announced that the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office filed a murder charge, a violation of Section 187 of the California Penal Code, against Ottoniel Salesgarcia of Oakland.
Mr. Salesgarcia was also charged with a second count, a violation of Penal Code section 245(a)(1), assault with a deadly weapon.
These charges arise from an incident in East Oakland on May 23, 2026. Oakland Police investigated, obtained a warrant, arrested Mr. Salesgarcia, and submitted a report to this Office.
The case is scheduled for Arraignment on June 5, 2026, at 9:00 AM, in Alameda County Superior Court, Department 112 of the Wiley Manuel Courthouse, in Oakland.

BERKELEY MAN CHARGED WITH MURDER
Oakland, CA, June 4, 2026 — Today, District Attorney Ursula Jones Dickson announced that the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office filed a Murder charge, a violation of Section 187 of the California Penal Code against Damarcus David Jones of Berkeley. In addition, the District Attorney’s Office filed a probation violation based on the new murder charges.
These charges arise from an incident that occurred on California Street in the City of Berkeley on May 26, 2026. Berkeley Police investigated and submitted a report to this Office.
The case is scheduled for Arraignment on June 5, 2026, at 9:00 AM, in Alameda County Superior Court, Department 112 of the Wiley Manuel Courthouse, in Oakland.

Oakland, CA — Alameda County District Attorney Ursula Jones Dickson announced that the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office has filed a criminal charge against San Leandro Police Chief Angela Averiett.
The DA charged Chief Averiett with a misdemeanor hit-and-run, a violation of Vehicle Code 20002(a). The charge stems from an investigation into a collision that occurred on May 19, 2025, at approximately 10:51 p.m. on eastbound Interstate 580 near the Interstate 680 interchange.
The California Highway Patrol handled the initial investigation. The case received media attention on March 31, 2026, and came to the attention of the Alameda County District Attorney’s office on April 1, 2026. At that time, this Office formally requested the CHP report and received it between April 13, 2026, and April 17, 2026. Upon further investigation by the Inspector’s Division of the District Attorney’s Office, the District Attorney found sufficient probable cause to formally file a misdemeanor hit-and-run charge, a violation of Vehicle Code Section 20002(a), against Chief Averiett. The maximum punishment under California law is six months in the County Jail and a $1000.00 fine.
“Our office has a duty to independently review the evidence and pursue charges when the facts support criminal charges,” said District Attorney Ursula Jones Dickson.
The arraignment in this matter has been set for June 18, 2026, at 9 AM in Department 712 of the East County Hall of Justice.

DISTRICT ATTORNEY URSULA JONES DICKSON ANNOUNCES CHARGES AGAINST TWO ALLEGED SIDESHOW PROMOTERS AFTER BAY AREA EVENT

Oakland, CA —Alameda County District Attorney Ursula Jones Dickson announced today that criminal charges have been filed against Axel Cisnerosmentos and Aron Anaya. Both men are charged with organizing and facilitating an illegal sideshow after a high-profile Bay Area gathering featuring internet personality iShowSpeed.
Both men have been charged with the following offense:
Organizing and Facilitating a Sideshow, Oakland Municipal Code section 10.74.040(a), a misdemeanor, and Aiding and Abetting a Speed Contest, California Vehicle Code section 23109(b), a misdemeanor.
“Sideshows are not harmless gatherings,” said District Attorney Ursula Jones Dickson. “These illegal events routinely cause vandalism, reckless driving, injuries, property damage, and pose significant threats to public safety. Individuals who organize, promote, and facilitate these activities will be held accountable.”
Both men are scheduled to appear for arraignment on May 27, 2026, in Department 108 at the Wiley W. Manuel Courthouse in Oakland.
